A Splash of Style: Two-Toned Blue Tile in a Double Luxury Shower

From the first meeting of this full-service primary bathroom remodel, the client expressed the desire for a luxury shower – spacious enough for two people, the best-quality glass enclosure and an amazing center rain shower. The unused jacuzzi tub provided the perfect location for the breathtaking his-and-her shower.

The existing shower was located adjacent from the entrance, so I knew it had to be a focal point upon entering. I proposed a full-height, painted built-in cabinet for storing linens and supplies.  While functional, the cabinet had to look original to the Victorian home, like it had always been there— with beveled glass doors, stained wood adjustable shelves and a furniture base.

We incorporated a shower ledge along the back wall giving more storage flexibility than the standard shower niche and easier cleanability. It also created a natural separation between rich blue and warm white artisanal ceramic tiles by Anatolia.

We carefully mixed the metal finishes of fixtures, using mostly polished nickel with a hint of warm brass in mirrors and the built-in cabinet hardware for interest.

As part of the overall design, we emphasized a clean and timeless style for long-term enjoyment. We prepared construction documents showing exactly where every fixture would fit and be located and how it would look. We took away the overwhelm and gave the client a few coordinated options to choose from and worked hand in hand throughout the installation.

When asked about working with Authentic Interiors, the client shared, “She felt like I was working with a friend. She was very knowledgeable and worth every penny!”
